The Nike "swoosh" logo was designed by University of Oregon student Carolyn
Davidson in 1964 -- four years after business undergrad Phil Knight and track
coach Bill Bowerman founded the company they originally called Blue Ribbon.
Ms. Davidson was paid $35 dollars for her design.

Hi James!
I just found out Friday (on my sons 14th Birthday), that I was the Grand Prize winner
for the Gildan Touchdowns for Tuition Sweepstakes!!! I won a trip for four (4) to
Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Gildan New Mexico Bowl.  My prize also includes
round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and up to a $10,000 college / higher
education scholarship. My 2 kids are over the moon and the scholarship money my
son will gladly use towards his College expenses when the time comes!!! We are
