A while back I saw in a newsletter about PineCone research and getting paid to do
secret shopper jobs. I just wanted to let you know that this is a scam. They sent me
an email telling me they were sending a check and I should receive it on a certain
day (which I did). The check was for $1,975 and I was to cash it and go to Moneygram
at walmart. I was to evaluate the moneygram event and to send $1550 to a person
listed in the email to Manila and spend $50.22 at Walmart keeping what ever I bought
and $300 for the "job" Since this was such a large amount of money I called the bank
(credit union) that the check was written on to verify its validity and of course the check
was NSF. I thought maybe you would like to pass on to your readers about the scam.

This one looks legit too, as it comes from Karen@pinecone. Secret shopping
companies will either send you funds to buy things or you use your own money
and send them receipts. None of this "we're going to send you a thousand
dollars and you cash it and send x amount back through western union".
100% of the time the check will clear and then bounce a week later.
Anyway, Pinecone is legit. They do surveys and the occasional product testing.
